(This was written during a long work trip to China, probably while working in Xian, I didn’t know of any churches in that city. Dalian had made thriving multi-national church that I could attend. The main message in this is if you can go to church, go to church. We as a body of believers need each other, just like the cells and organs of our won body need each other. If you can go- go to church).
I love and miss my church
I am reading through the Psalms and saw this in Psalm 5:
“But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence I will bow down toward your holy temple.
Lead me, o Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies- make straight your way before me.
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”
Its Sunday morning here. I haven’t gotten to go to Church in 4 weeks. I can’t remember the last time I went this long without church. I’m feeling lonely and isolated. I haven’t sung in worship for 4 weeks.
Fellowship and the gathering of Gods people to encourage and teach and touch and heal and pray with and play with, it’s a privilege.
Don’t miss it if you can go, go! Be with other believers.
“Do not forsake the assembling together”.
I love and miss my church.
I was just reading Psalm 5 today. And I have been in Xi’an, though I don’t think we traveled at the same time. I can totally feel the isolation that was in that place, and some are feeling this same isolation in the US; though we have churches all around us. We need Jesus, we need each other, let’s get back to meeting, worshiping, encouraging and loving the people around us . . together. Preach it!
