Does it show?

We are in a small group studying the book of Philippians. During part of the video teaching where we were seeing verses that tell us who we are and who Jesus is, this verse came up.

“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown. All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God—the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name. “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.
Revelation 3:11-13 – NLT

I don’t know about you but sometimes the stuff of life, all the activities that keep my attention can push this fact to the back of my mind.

I need to keep it closer to the front of my mind, in the part of my thinking that prompts me how to act and what to do and how to prioritize my activities. Intentionality keeps coming up. Am I living intentionally with the knowledge that Jesus is coming back soon. Who can I tell about Him? This Jesus that loved me to death, his death, and his power to give life to the dead. He was the first to rise and now lives forever.

Am I living in such a way that my life, my activities, say the same thing that my mouth and texts say, that Jesus is alive, he loves us and forgives us and he is coming soon?

“I am coming soon…” Jesus

I am a man. I am an older man. I am a husband and a dad and a grandpa. I am a disciple of Jesus. Because I am a disciple of Jesus much of what I write is about him, and I usually end what I write with a question, do you the reader know that Jesus loves you? He does. He loves us all but he loves you specifically. He loves me specifically. What will you do with that information today?
