in all things God works…

In all things God works for the good…

It’s not hypothetical. (Am I using that word correctly?)

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

It was 50 years ago today, probably around this time of day, maybe a little later, it was dark. Fifty years ago I was burned. My face and right hand would never be the same. But God used even this horrible thing, especially this horrible thing to preserve me and lead me into a relationship with the most perfect woman to share my life with.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

These words more than any other in the Bible show me, remind me, that God loves me and will use even the worst things in my life, the worst things in our lives, for our good. Why? Because of two things. One, He loves us. Two, he is a good father. Two b, he can, he is creator and is still creative, still acting creatively.

What will he do with the rest of my junk that I’ve made and or messed up? What will he do with your junk? He is waiting to be invited into our mess to create something beautiful with our lives.

I am a man. I am an older man. I am a husband and a dad and a grandpa. I am a disciple of Jesus. Because I am a disciple of Jesus much of what I write is about him, and I usually end what I write with a question, do you the reader know that Jesus loves you? He does. He loves us all but he loves you specifically. He loves me specifically. What will you do with that information today?
